Non-Profit Success: Non-Profit Focused on Conservation Embarks on Transformation

An enterprise-wide transformation anchored by Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, Power Platform, and Azure that can handle current business and the aggressive growth goals for the future

About

A non-profit that helps people and organizations purchase quality conservation products at affordable prices, providing incentive fulfillment services to utility clients throughout the US, with the goal to provide real, measurable savings.

Challenge

The non-profit organization faced the challenge of scaling up to meet the growth opportunities in the energy efficiency market and expanding into new markets like solar power. Their technology landscape was unable to support their growth goals, which threatened their ability to increase market share and become more agile and higher performing. They needed a more automated, consolidated, and flexible system that could connect with their other environments. However, they had a mixture of home-grown solutions and industry-standard tools, resulting in multiple silos of data and a lack of a single source of truth. This impacted data integrity, making it difficult for front-line employees like Marketing and Customer Service to get accurate information to do their jobs.

Solution

The conservation-focused non-profit partnered with HSO for an enterprise-wide transformation. The transformation, anchored by Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain, Microsoft Power Platform, and Microsoft Azure, will impact the non-profit's Finance & Supply Chain, Data Warehouse & Reporting, and Operations. It will involve replacing, retiring, redesigning/modernizing, or integrating 10+ systems to create an organization that can scale to handle current business and growth goals. HSO was selected as the partner to ensure an architecture strategy that would map to their desired future state and to manage the implementation.

Results

By the time this project ends, the non-profit will be equipped to better serve their conservation mission. This transformation will help them attract and better serve their utility provider customers. The utility providers can then make the non-profit's energy-efficient products more accessible to their end customers, who can in turn lower their energy consumption. This transformation is a win for everyone, including the planet, and its value cannot be measured.
